Hi guys soon I'm gonna leave for university and because I can't take my desktop PC with me I'm gonna need a good gaming laptop. I'm between a Sony Vaio SVE1713Y1E and a Toshiba Satellite P70-A-104.

Toshiba Satellite specs: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=2000099419
CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz , 6MB Cache
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce GT745M 2GB

Sony Vaio specs: http://www.sony.co.uk/product/vaio-e-series/sve1713y1e
CPU: Intel Core i7-3632QM 2.20 GHz. 6MB Cache
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7650M 2GB

Both have pretty identical specs and prices eventhough the Sony vaio is a last years model and the Toshiba is a new model so it has newer hardware but I just wanted to know which brand is better and more reliable in terms of overheating and laptop's life because I will mostly use this laptop for gaming.

What was your experience with Sony and Toshiba laptops?

The Toshiba has better specs. The Haswell generation CPU is on average 6% more power than Ivy Bridge CPUs at the same clockspeed. The i7-4700mq is also clocked 200MHz. There is a pretty decent difference between the GT 745m and the Radeon HD 7650m. The GT 745m is considered to be equal to the Radeon HD 7770m.

Which brand is more reliable? I don't know. Gaming laptops in general gets hot when playing games. Which laptop is more likely to overheat? Unknown.
