My Droid has been slipping away over the past week-one function at a time. My biggest concern is retrieving lost photos.
The phone powers on, but does not reboot itself. This is storage beyond the SD card.
And no I did not back up and yes next time I will. Any wizardry out there that can help?

Solution

What you could try is:

# Try installing the stock ROM and see if that fixes the problem.

Or,

# See if you can install a kernel which supports ClockWorkMod.
# Once done, you can mount your phone using it.

Thank you so much for responding. Yes, I can literally turn on the phone at this point.
However, it does not boot itself up. The screen just displays HTCC and then goes dark.

Again,

Thank you for this information and for being so specific. I am not technically inclined
and am scrambling to pull this off. I do have a couple of friends who a re engineers
at Google and are trying to help. No one has suggested this and I will pass it on.
I will keep you appraised of the progress.

Thank you for your time and interest! Tyler
