With no official news from Samsung, the prospects for release of the Ativ Q just keep getting dimmer.
For those of us who'd planned to purchase one, what's the next best thing?

Solution
Looks like there are some pretty sizable patent issues related to the convertible style itself. It may be some time before those legal hurdles are overcome and the style is mass produced. In the interim, there are some docking stations that are compact enough to serve a similar purpose - alternatively, some manufacturers (Dell at least) make a fliptop netbook with touch interface - though weight is still pretty high on these.
