AMD A10 5750M or Intel i5 3230M

Hey guys, so i'm planning to buy a new laptop.
So i have narrowed it down to two laptops one of them has a APU A10 5750M and the other has a i5 3230M. I've compared both of them and the benchmarks are almost the same.This is all on paper.I wanna know how these two actually perform and which one is better. The APU A10 has a 2 GB GDDR3 8570 and the i5 has a 2 Gb GDDR3 Geforce GT 720M .Rest all the config is same.The price difference in both is just 20$.Which one is better for gaming and work. (I know these are not gaming laptops)

it offers 50% more battery life. and thats very important for notebooks

Forget Haswell, that was my mistake throwing that in there. Ivy Bridge is still a more efficient microarchitecture when it comes to common tasks, just not by a huge margin.

Gaming performance will most likely be better with the A10 system though, because it can utilize the 8650G built into the APU as well as the 8570M. The Intel iGPU and NVidia card don't work that way; only the NVidia card will be utilized.

go for Intel. in notebook intel is allways better.

Intel Core i5 3230M is much better. It's overall performance is much better, it's single core performance is much better. Although the power consumption between both are the same, the Intel i5 has much better overall features and specs than the AMD A10 5750M. So the answer again is get the i5 for sure, 100%.

I have recently bought hp pavilion m4 1003 tx.
Its only con is its glossy surface. It really looks ugly when we actually use it as compare to ideapad z500 but its gaming performance,for which I actually purchased it is above average. Played GTA 4. Far cry 3, crysis3 and witcher 2 in high graphics in hd setting. I m impressed. Get yourself one if u prefer performance over looks. And dont worry i5 3230 beats a10 any day of a week.so decide now. I got it from hp showroom at 46990 inr.
