No Google Play on Chinese ASUS PadFone 2

Hi, I bought an ASUS PadFone 2 from China and there was no Google Play, just a crappy Chinese app store. It runs on the newest software for the PadFone 2. I tried downloading the Play Store APK, but when I install it the program says "Unfortunately Google Play has crashed". How do I get Google Play on my PadFone 2. And BTW, I am in Canada, so there is no Play Store restrictions.

can you take a picture possibly of the app store you have on your phone and then open the app and take another picture of it? cause it seems that your kernel is from google but i'm still not convinced it's a legit padfone 2

There are 2 app stores, one is called HiMarket and the other is called gfan

if you can look for the apk android hardware info on the web and install it on your phone compare the specs with the padfone 2 listed on the asus website

to followup with not having the google play store on your padfone 2, I read somewhere that if you buy Android devices in China, most do not come with the Google Play store and all the google apps and you have to flash google apps yourself

How would i flash google play? By rooting?

yea you'd have to root your phone and unlock the bootloader and find a gapps package that is flashable for your phone

you can try googling for a way but i dont think the padfone 2 community is too big

try that and then find a gapps package (they're universal) and flash the gapps package
