Sub 1000$ CDN Business Laptop

Im heading to school in september for Business. I would like to know what is the best laptop i could get for under 1000$. Id mostly be using it for simple applications and watching tv/movies. Long Battery life and a nice clear, durable, big screen would top important factors.

Define "long battery life" relative to your needs. A lot of laptops with big screens offer decent battery life with LED backlighting, but how big you want your screen may affect battery life to a small degree as well.

To start you off, take a look at some Clevo/Sager systems. They're a good value and don't force any particular operating system on you; you have a bit more flexibility there (you can even get it with no OS and load your own).
