Windows 7 won't boot in normal mode (Black screen with movable curser after windows logo)

So I built a new PC a couple of days ago, and everything has been running fine until recently. It started with my PC hanging on a blackscreen upon booting up. I believe it had something to do with a registry clean that I performed with CCleaner early.. After restoring my registry from a backup, I am now able to boot into Normal Mode again, but I am still unsure of what the cause was exactly. Also, is it recommended to run registry cleaning scans or should I just leave the registry alone?

My system specs:

Intel Core i5 4670K Haswel
GTX760
Asrock z87 Extreme4
8 gigs mushkin ram 1066
Windows 7 64-bit

I don't know if this will help, but I will include the two registry keys(copied from notepad) that I backed-up before running CCleaner:

Key 1:

I used to regular cleaning the registry, but now on win7 i never do that again..
It seems win7 handle broken registry much more better than xp...

I would just leave it, from my old experience the reg cleaner prog/apps sometimes not intelligent enough...
they can do more harm than good..

+1 to if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Leave the registry alone. If you think you messed up the registry there is always backing up your files to an external drive and re installing windows 7.

As to why you are hanging up I have a theory that you may have to many programs loading at start up, or may have a hard drive starting to fail or maybe something else might be going bad.

I would highly suggest making yourself an Ultimate Boot Disc and launch the application called Parted Magic and see if you can see your hard drives condition.

http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/index.html

and to make the disc you need an ISO burner.
http://www.freeisoburner.com/

I hope you find the Ultimate Boot Disc handy for other stuff, I sure have.

O and don't worry Parted Magic only installs Linux based diagnostic software into the memory/ram, next reset it is gone.

Thanks for the reply. Do I need to download the Windows version of UBC by Ben Burrows, or just the one you linked originally? Also, do you think I should reformat or should my system be fine if its working at the moment?

The version of Ultimate boot disc I linked works. You just need the .iso file and the Iso program I also linked to make yourself an Ultimate boot disc.

If it is working and you can live with it leave it be.
If it bugs you, just reinstall windows 7. Installing win7 only takes 5 minutes if you have it loaded on a usb stick, but you would have to clear/wipe your hard drive and back up your files first.
