I already purchased a HP Envy 15t with the new Haswell 4700 processor and 8GB of RAM and GT740M GPU for about $935 with tax and shipping. HP is taking an awful long time to ship it. It's been in production for a week. Anyways I've been reading around that the GT740M is really a rebranded GT650 and wouldn't be able to keep up with the 1920 x 1080 full HD screen that I purchased. Now I see that Lenovo has the Ideapad Y510p with almost identical specs. It's heavier than the HP and a little more expensive but would I be getting a better built and better specs? Here are the specs for both - help me out and let me know please if you think I should cancel my order or not and order the Lenovo or any other brand for that matter? I haven't bought a laptop in six years as my Dell is on it's way out and honestly haven't been reading the times on laptop specs etc. FYI I don't play hardcore games that often but sometimes I like to pick up Starcraft 2 or Arkam City and play for a few hours. I also need and want the full HD screen. I'm trying to keep it as light as possible. Thanks in advance.

The GT 750M has about 150mhz higher core clocks, but uses GDDR5 instead of GDDR3. You'll see quite a performance boost with the 750M. If you can save up a bit more money, this will do way better than either of those:http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7352-clevo-w350st-p-5842.html It has a GPU that is about 80% more powerful than the GT 750M, and should have no problem playing the latest games on high settings.

I appreciate your reply but I don't need such a powerful gaming machine. I pick up games once in a while. I mainly just wanted to know should I have not gone with HP and rather with Lenovo? I'm trading up to a better video card but I'm packing the lbs and I wanted to stay under 5 lbs and the Lenovo is almost 6. Can HP build quality be trusted?
