I cannot comment on the MSI, though I hear that model is a beast. I have a Lenovo y500 SLI 650m (refurb) that I am returning and replacing with a y510p since it was damaged (only cosmetically) in shipping. I loved the y500 and am sure the y510p will perform better.

For the price I'm not sure you can beat the y510p, but keep in mind that due to SLI, the laptop must be plugged in while using both cards and it will get hot. I've read that the GTX 765m is just below the 750m SLI in most categories for gaming. Also, you're only getting a 15" screen (glossy?) with the y510p vs a 17" (matte) with the MSI, which you really notice with that bezel Lenovo puts on there.

The Lenovo configuration you have ($1299) does have the SLI gt 750m (x2) in a 16GB RAM flavor. The $1199 config has the same SLI with 8BG RAM. Newegg has the same laptop (8GB) for $1089 and depending on where you live, no tax. Amazon has similar offering, however their stock is out ($999 + tax), a reseller has it for around $1050.

It seems these models are not getting a Lenovo discount based on the B&N Gold membership. I would try and price the model with other sites before ordering thru Lenovo, you can use the money you save to upgrade the RAM yourself or get a nice SSD, though you should not need more than 8GB honestly.

definitely go with the lenovo. i heard the GT 750m sli can beat the GTX 770m in some games
(http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html)
which is incredible for a laptop this price. but, keep in mind that not all games support SLI, meaning the performance will be a lot lower than the gtx 765m. it'll be equal to a single GT 750m in fact, which is pretty bad. i'd still go with the y510p tough.
now, if you don't mind 17" laptops (BTW the GE60 is a 15" laptop with the exact same specs) i would recommend something with a bit more "kick". or, if you like the performance the GE70 offers, i think you should look at the sager NP73xx series that has 17.3", 15.6" and 13.3" models with the same specs and are all cheaper.
hope i helped!

can anyone help? i'm trying to understand whether or not this is the SLI version:
http://www.microcenter.com/product/415264/Ideapad_Y510p_156%22_Laptop_Computer_-_Dusk_Black;_Intel_Core_i7-4700MQ_Processor_24GHz;_Microsoft_Windows_8;_8GB_DDR3-1600_RAM;_1TB_5,400RPM_Hard_Drive#
in the overview it says SLI but not on the specs tab. even the chat support didn't answer me. did anyone order from them or can clarify it for me? didn't find anywhere cheaper

scroll down to where it says "At A Glance" it mentions SLI and "(2nd graphics card included in Ultrabay)"

So yes it is SLI i've been trying to get this one at my local microcenter retailer but it's been out of stock for 2 weeks and you can't buy it from microcenter web store now. ... i might just have to pay $50 more off of newegg.
