If you want to play games the sony is a better choise, because the dell will barely be capable of playing games. But when you won't play games the dell will be faster. Wouldn't it be possible to buy the sony pc with an i5, because that would be the best option, and I think it is worth the money.

Suppose if both have the same configuartion in terms of processor and RAM i.e core i5 and 1 GB graphic card (neglecting complex details like clock speed, etc) then Which should I prefer Sony or Dell. Which brand is better?

Dell sucks. There's far better laptops you could go with. That Sony one is decent. If Lenovo or Toshiba are available where you live, those two are far better than Dell.

I have a sony for the moment and I am very happy with it. Good keyboard and fan is not loud when working. I only find that the laptop speakers are dissapointing but this is also the case with dell. A friend of mine has a dell and I think that it looks nicer and sturdier. But I would go for a sony, support is a lot better as well.

You can not get the dell with a dedicated graphics card, so the sony will allways be better at gaming because an intel hd 4000 isn't any good in a game.

check this link for sony graphics card hd 7650m: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7650M.70632.0.html
and this one for the hd 4000 in the dell: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000.69168.0.html

for example on need for speed most wanted you get 39.6 fps on low settings with hd7650m with hd 4000 you get 26 wich is just playable. At medium with the hd 7650m you get 29.5 fps and with the hd 4000 you get 14 wich is unplayable. (you schould at least have an average of 25 fps)
