Hello there, I've been a digit reader since 2000 January and I'm really having a tough time figuring out this problem. I've been running Windows 8 for around 3-4 months now and I do have many Professional software installed. The problem is that my PC was running perfectly smooth even a week or 2 ago. But now it has become slow as hell and even opening Firefox or chrome has become a big headache. Even MY COMPUTER opening is so slow at times. But the funny thing is... I play Battlefield 3 or SKYRIM and there seems to be no slowdown there. in Any games for that matter.
The things I've tried are ..
1. I tried bitdefender and Malware Bytes and its not a virus or anything.
2. I've tried changing the SATA port of my main hard drive, no use.
3.Tried upgrading the latest graphics card drivers , even clean install. No sue.
4. Disabled Windows Defender. Still the same
A strange thing I've noticed that Internet Download Manger ( IDMAN) sometimes rise to usage of even 700 or 800 MB ram for a short period and the drops down instantly. I dunno if it was doing that before, but just an info. Even tried disabling IDMan, still the same.
The specs and some of the software are as follows.
Tech Specs:
1. Intel Core i3 1st gen 2.93GHZ
2. Intel DH55TC motherboard
3. 4GB 2x2GB kingston DDR3 1333MHZ Ram
4. Nvidia Geforce XFX 9600 GT 512MB Graphics Card ( Driver version 320.18 WHQL )
5. Dell 19" monitor + Viewsonic 19" monitor - Dual Display
6. 1TB Hard drive + 500 GB Hard drive + 2TB (External) HDD [All seagate]
7. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Sound Card
8. Amigo AM PS-500AP 500W SMPS
9. Zebronics Cabinet
Software:
OS - Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit
1. Browsers - Firefox, Chrome, Opera
2. VLC, iTunes, Media player Classic
3. Photoshop CS6, Premiere Pro CS6, Corel Draw X6 ( All 64BIT)
4. Pro Audio softwares - Steinberg Nunendo 4 , Cubase 5, Sound forge, Native Instruments Komplete, FL Studio 10, Magix Music Maker etc.
5. Games - Grid 2, Battlefield 3, CounterStrike GO, Resident Evil 6, Metro Last Light, Star Trek, DMC Devil May cry, Command and Conquer 3, Skyrim etc.
6. Misc. Software - Utorrent, Skype, MS office 360/2013, Steam, Origin, Power iso etc.
Please help me out. Even though I've figure out MANY MANY probs of Pc's for many people, Im stumped here.
