I have a nexus 4, and I've got pictures from the camera, from email downloads, from pushing over from my PC, etc.

I had a sub-gallery of photos within my overall gallery, and wanted to email the whole set of photos to a friend, so I tried connecting as camera and as USB device (after which I searched all directories). I can't find these photos anywhere on the device, other than via the gallery interface. Where else might photos be stored on the device?

Thank you

Are the files hidden, maybe? Try toggling "view hidden files/folders" in Windows to on.

Do you know what file type the pictures are? Navigate to the phone. Click the search bar in My Computer and type .jpg or .png or whatever other file type.

The default location for photos from the camera on a nexus 4 (or any other Android device, I assume) is /sdcard/DCIM. The default location for photos you download should be in /sdcard/Download.
