Invalid format sign keeps coming up on the projector screen

Can some one tell me why, I am new to projector it as been linked up to the computer. Being working well and for some reason this invalid format signs keeps continually showing onto the projector screen it will not load up to the computer. and source is set up to set up for PC-RGB IN. most grateful. thanks.

Check the owners manual of the projector and find out what formats and resolutions it supports for the PC input and set your computer to the highest compatible format.
