AMD athlon ii X4 645 Core unlock

Hey all. I have an Asus M4A78LT-M motherboard and Athlon II X4 645 Cpu.
If I enable Advanced Clock Calibration in the bios, and Unleashing Mode too, I can see 6 cores If I select active cores manually. Well I can see all cores except core 1, as that can not be disabled, but core 2 to 5 appear there, and along with core 1, that makes 6 cores.
I set them all to active, yet, upon reboot, the BIOS says 4 cores activated, on the bootup screen. Also, CPU-Z does not detect L3 cache, and no more than 4 cores.
However, I can activate 6 cores in the CPU options, in the bios? Does that mean they exist? What else must I do to unlock them?
My board supports 6 core phenoms...

It is possible that your CPU is based on the Thuban die and just has the L3 cache and other two cores disabled. The only way you can tell is to look at the serial number on the CPU and see what two letters in the middle. If the two letters in the middle are CB then you have a thuban die. What is more likely though is that you have AD, which is the propus die for the Athlon ii X4 which means that you have nothing else to unlock.

Thank you for the quick reply. I really don't feel like dis-assembling the cooler, it was a HUGE pain to assemble. Anyways should I have a Thuban die, why won't the L3 cache and the remaining 2 cores unlock? Although I have 6 cores activated under CPU configs in Bios, when the computer boots, bios screen says 4 cores activated. Windows only recognizes 4.
Also, I have found serial number on my cpu's box, but it looks nothing like the stepping codes in that link.

Looks like your chip may be a lucky thuban phenom ii x6 1045T.

As for unlocking, its a luck of the draw. I don't know much on this subject but try going into msconfig see if you can check core 5 and 6. Reboot

However, looks like your chip may not be stable with unlock, but you can try to unlock one core at a time, five is still better than 4.

Lots of instruction on google for phenom II deriv unlocking.

Once again thank you for the reply. I tried turning Core 5 off, still only 4 cores activated message on bios bootup screen. CPUZ says 4 threads and 4 cores What can I do about the cores in msconfig?
Really would be happy if I do have a lucky 6 core!

EDIT: in Msconfig, under advanced options, it shows only 4 cores.
