Are you trolling him. If he were to ask his carrier they would say no because of right now unlocking is illegal. You may just want to look it up on youtube.

It is not illegal if you are prepaid user or your contract obligation to postpaid has expired.

I am responding to unksol's answer of asking your carrier. If the poster still had a carrier to ask it would therefore be illegal.

No. It's not. It is currently illegal to unlock your phone yourself. It is not at all illegal for your carrier to give you the unlock code or unlock it for you. ATT has always done so freely if you've been paying on your bill for a certain period of time, and you ask correctly.

Whether or not you like it the only legal way to unlock your new phone is to ask your carrier. And whether or not you like it we don't provide assistance doing illegal things on these forums.
