Now,if i buy the phone on Amazon.com,can i use it in Belgium?and use the sim cards from the Belgian providers?

Is this the provider Mobistar are you talking about?

And this should be the smartphone you are looking for, right?

If that's true, it should work. Atleast for voice and sms. The Huawei Ascend D2 have the frequencies of GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz, pretty much it will work with any provider in the world, since those frequencies are pretty much standardized in the world. But that only includes to GSM providers, not CMDA. The GSM Huawei Ascend D2 will work for voice and sms, but not 3G. Since the provider Mobister uses 2100 MHz band, and the Huawei Ascend D2 does not support that. If you want data on your phone, the best you can probably go is 2G...

A phone that takes a sim card to work will take any carriers sim card , if you plan on buying the phone then you can go to the carrier that you want to use and ask them if that phone will take thier sim card and work on thier system.
This is not a bad idea because , 1. they woun't have to worry about any warranty because your buying the phone from someplace else and with all phone puchases it's only a one time thing anyways. 2. they want your buisness and for you to sign up for thier service which they will make more money on then they would with a phone sale.

emperias , it's always a good idea to select a best answer and it's the person that gave you the answer your looking for, in this case it appears that ipwn3r456 has given you the answer your seeking so selecting his post as the best answer would be appropriate. If you do not return in a reasonable amount of time and there are no further answers I can do that for you if you are satisfied and your question has been answered.
