Hello All,
I just installed win2kpro and now I have an issue with my Kenwood 72x CDROM. I keep getting a message in Win2k stating that I have tried to unlock this drive. Win2k thinks that the CDROM is a SCSI drive but its an IDE drive. If I use the drive the computer reboots.
I am using a an A7V 1.02 mb with a 1gig athlon.
How do I get Win2k to see my drive as an IDE drive and stop thinking that I'm trying to unlock the drive?

From looking at the Tech Spec here it doesn't appear that Win2k has driver support. I may be wrong, but Microsoft may have add support in one of their service packs.

Try installing W2k with another CD ROM drive and install the service packs and then try reinstalling your Kenwood.

On second thought Windows should provide support for all ATAPI CD ROM's

Or better contact Kenwood tech support.

go to the device manager and open the cd-rom section. what does it list? if it lists a scsi drive, then remove it, close the device mananger and reboot. win2k should automatically detect and install the kenwood drive. let us know how it goes......

ignore everything i say
