How can I unlock automatic IRQ config on a Standard PC?

Hello!

Recently I switched from ACPI to Standard PC drivers to be able to manually set IRQ.

The problem is that when I go Properties>Ressources the "automatic config" box is still greyed and cannot uncheck it.


Is there anything I could do to avoid this?

My specs:

WinXP Pro SP2
ASUS P5K-E Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2'33 GHz
4 GB of RAM

why do need to set the IRQ's?
Now days auto is better.

I'm working with audio, and shared IRQs make my Firewire card go glitchy...

I know is hard not to get shared IRQs, but I'm trying to optimize my system and I would like to try disabling some devices and reassigning a propoer IRQ to the FW.
