Hello,
I have removed the hard drive from my 'Packard Bell' laptop and I am trying to access the contents using a 'Lacie' external caddy, but "access is denied"; possibly because there was a password lock on my laptop. Is there a way to remove the lock and access the hard drive?

If there was a BIOS password, then no, you cannot access the drive. Put it back in the original laptop and remove the password. Otherwise you need to use the backups you had, right? ;)
