Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004

just read about Media Center 2004 and they said that its not compaitable with any of our pc's cause they have special mobo's or something
does anyone know how we might be able to mod our $2000 plus pc's so that we can use this good sounding software

I don't really have an answer for that. Windows XP media center is great in that it has a lot of functionality built into the OS, but it is still a glorified version of XP Home. Go get a video capture card from www.newegg.com. You should be able to find one that has software bundled with it. You'll be able to do everything that XP Media center offers. I got an e-vga GeForce 5700 AGP card with a cable TV breakout box. The whole thing came with a remote DVD and movie editing/burning software. It works great. I would suggest going with a straight capture card not integrated with a VGA card. That way when you want to upgrade your systems graphics card you can without losing your capture card too.
