So I have a HP G60-200 and when I went to go turn it on this morning and the screen was just black. I know the computer is booting because I tested it on an external monitor and that works. I wanted to know what you all think it could be before I attempt to replace the screen because the screens for this computer are pretty expensive. Thanks!

on laptops, there is usually an "fn" key and a key to toggle the external display, in case you wanted to use it as a desktop style computer.

press fn+display and it should switch back to the laptop monitor

make sure you're pressing the right key, check if the external monitor turns off when you do this. If your external monitor turns off, you may need to replace a piece of the laptop's hardware.

it's not the mobo, or it wouldn't turn on. Turn up the brightness in case you're being pranked. it could be a broken backlight, inverter, or a part within the screen (replace whole screen if so)
