HP dv4-1114nr Will not charge battery - even when it says its charging

Have placed battery in another laptop and it charges fine. When I plug in the power is states pluged in and charging, however it still drains battery. If i unplug battery while it is plugged in to AC power it just turns off. Any help would be great. System Board is out now. Thanks in advance!

Test the charger with a VOLTMETER...

already did...tests at 19 volts. LED lights when plug power cord in and shows charging in windows

Umm you say the battery charges in another lappy...what happens if you FULLY charge it in another lappy then put it in ?

it works but just doesn't charge...it's like it's just powered by the battery. ac adapter works fine in other laptop as well. I'm thinking it's something on the system board..was just hoping someone else could help me figure out what to test

it will not charge battery. at all. if i fully charge battery it will work for several hours till it drains. when i plug in ac power screen gets bright and icon at bottom shows charging. and says Plugged in charging but still draining battery. if i unplug battery while on ac it instantly turns off.

OK, it sounds like a non repairable charging circuit fault on the Motherboard... New MOTHERBOARD probably needed, which is usually uneconomical
