Sometimes my laptop turns on for a few seconds and then off.

Hello I have a gateway nv55c03u laptop and I had it for a few years. A couple of weeks ago I tried to turning it on but afrter 5 seconds it turns off, and then it repeats on and off again. But sometimes it turns on normally and i cant seem to find some sort of pattern. what should I do?

Test the charger with a voltmeter then take it to a laptop repair shop for diagnosis if no luck with charger...
