Hi,

I was compressing a video with Handbrake, I noticed the laptop burning, checked the temperature and it was very high, 90º (Celsius) the motherboard and 85º the CPU. Then it just shut off.

When I try to start it, it will make some slight noise (kind of hard disk clack clack but just a moment and low) and nothing else happens. It doesn't start at all. Neither BIOS nor nothing. Totally off.

The green battery light is on, the blue ON light is on, but nothing happens.

The first times I tried to start it it smellt like burning, but not too much. Not it doesn't smell at all.

I opened the laptop and cleaned everything inside. The fan was quite clean.

I tried with a second power charger adaptor I have and it's just the same.

Is the motherboard fried and I need to buy another laptop?

It is a cheap Samsung R519 3 years old which had a battery running out asking for a replacement.

If it's the motherboard, fixing it will cost almost like a new laptop. I am a student without any money.

Any opinion is welcome. Thanks.

Thanks.

How to know?

The CPU comes with the motherboard if I buy another one or is apart?

Thanks again.
