So,

I'm hoping to get an Acer V3-571G-6407 soon... It seems like a really good deal.

The last Acer I had had an intermittent WiFi card and I had to downgrade to my spare (which I'm running on now :( )

I want to nip these problems in the bud this time as I have found a few threads complaining about the wifi cards on the V3-571G-6407.

SO:

1. Is it possible to replace the wWiFi card on the Aspire V3-571G-6407?

1.1. Is it not overly difficult to do?

2. If so, what WiFi cards can I replace the Atheros with?

2.2. What options do I have that are b/g/n/+Bluetooth?

yeah...

My thanks to anyone who can answer this.

If I had to guess it is probably a half mini pci-e. The Intel 6235 would be a good replacement. I am thinking of putting one in my Acer 5750 to upgrade my Atheros chip. On my Acer the WiFi chip is on the bottom of the computer, less than 5 min to swap a new one in.

I know that having an external is easier, but I would VERY strongly prefer to have a good internal... I appreciate the tip, Brett, but I don't want another usb device floating around my backpack (as they tend to get broken...).

I know a guy who does computer repairs who could do it for me. I just need to know what card to order.

Wow, thanks! That nailed it on the head.

My old computer was the 5750! Thank you so much, maybe I'll stick one in there as well and see if it perks up...

Thanks again, Norton!
