Tried to load Sony photo CD -machine continually says its restarting - 10+ hours - can not close down. how to fix??

10 hours is long enough! Hold power button to shut down. (If you have to, unplug and remove the battery) Restart.
When rebooting, if it gives you the option, choose Start Windows Normally.

If that does not work, and you are having issues loading windows, continually press F8 the next time the computer turns on and choose Safe Mode with Networking, and use system restore to choose an earlier point in time before the Sony CD fiasco.
