Hi,
interesting issue.

1) I spilt water on a netbook (obviously not a good start)

2) some keys now keep firing (from incident until now - several days later - it's dry)

ie, it's as if the "[" key is continually held down (but it's not physically stuck or anything, I have verified this intensely).

Question:

Do you think keyboard replacement will solve this?
Or do you think it's something to do with the chip set?

Netbook is acer aspire one D270-DKK.
I wouldn't have thought much water (if any) would have gotten through, but I'm not sure (I was very ill when it happened, so I wasn't paying much attention to anything :/).

Aside from this, the item is fully functional. Plugging a USB keyboard in works, but the keys keep firing still.

thanks

There may be some water inside the keyboard. I have tried this successfully on several keyboards/laptops. Get a large zip lock bag, place it flat on the counter. Get some regular rice from the grocery store, and place about 1/2 inch of rice on the bottom of the bag. Place a paper towel over the rice, then the laptop on the paper towel. Seal the bag, trying to remove as much air as you can, and let it sit for 3-4 days. The rice will draw the water out of the keyboard.

Be very careful not to get rice in the laptop...
