HP G50 Screen Tearing.

I've had my laptop for almost 7 years now. It's a hand-me-down that my mom used when her computer croaked. About a year ago I noticed that whenever the screen is moved, or even the computer itself, the screen tears, almost like tv static. I've read multiple forums and most say it is an internal issue involving a wire that is being shorted out by the metal hinging the screen to the keyboard. But I am still unsure of what the problem may be.

Sounds like they're right, some sort of intermittent open circuit or short to the screen. Do any of the sites say how to fix it?
