I am a university student that needs a new laptop. I just need a light and mobile laptop that can handle my needs.
I usually surf the web, do schoolwork on MSOffice, watch movies, stream videos, and play games like minecraft. I've settled for 14" as again I want to be able to easily carry it around on campus.

Anyways, I've narrowed it down to these two:

Samsung Series 5 NP535U4C - $769.99

14"
AMD A10-4655m Quad core @ 2.0 GHz
750 GB @ 5400 rpm
8 Gb DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM
AMD Radeon HD 7620G discreet graphics part of APU
Around 4 lbs

Asus S46CM S Series - $844.99

14.1"
Dual Core i7-3517U 1.9GHz with Turbo boost to around 2.3 i think
1 TB @ 5400 rpm with 24 Gb SSD
6 Gb DDR3 SODIMM 1600 MHz
Nvidia 635M dedicated graphics 2 Gb
Around 4.4lbs

Both come with optical drives but both dont have backlit keyboards.
- I really like the design of the Samsung which is lighter and thinner, it also has the great Trinity APU which has lower power usage than the combination of the Asus. However, it doesn't have an SSD which is a really big deal for me.
- The Asus has the i7 which kicks in terms of computing compared to the a10, and it also has the dedicated graphics to back it up in terms of gaming.
But the design is just so unappealing and it is thicker and heavier. PLUS, im sure the processor plus graphics run very high with power usage.

I just need other opinions on this as I can't decide.
BTW, I am also willing to upgrade the Samsung with an SSD if that is possible???
