I am a college student and I'm looking for a small, really portable laptop that I can take to class every day. Since I am in college, I don't have a very large budget so I'm looking to keep it cheap. I would only need to it run word and internet browsing but would want something that won't get bogged down if I go and stream music while streaming music.

I have been looking at this laptop, http://www.microcenter.com/product/401608/X202E-DH31T_116_Laptop_Computer_-_Metallic_Grey, it is on sale for $499 right now which might be just at the top of my price range.

I have also been looking at the Acer Chromebook because of its price and that I could run ubuntu off of it if I wanted to and if I really needed to do anything more than browsing, I could probably just remote into my desktop and run a program that way even though its not the most efficient.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+11.6%22+Chromebook+-+2GB+Memory+-+320GB+Hard+Drive+-+Iron+Gray/7098526.p?id=1218829108571&skuId=7098526

I really would like to stick with the 11" screen size because of its portability.

Thanks for any input!

Yes, those choices are great. Go for the microcenter one. It is common sense.

The microcenter one will have long lifespan as it has windows 8 and a fairly big hard drive. Windows 8 dont need large horses to run.
