Anyone know how to get laptop DVI out to 2560x1440?

I have a Sager NP9170 with a Geforce 670M card.

Native res on the laptop is 1920x180.

It has a DVI out, but for whatever reason it only wants to use the built in Intel graphics chipset to hook up to an external monitor. The device maxes out at 1680x1050.

If I disable the Intel graphics, the option to hook up a second monitor disappears from what I can tell.

Basically, is there any way I can use my 27" LCD, at native res, with my laptop?

2560x1440 you'd need a dual link dvi port, which you don't have. But you do have a display port which will run that resolution. If the monitor doesn't have displayport get a displayport to dual link dvi adapter.
