Hello, it's been a while since I've poster here :D. I'm usually on Tom's when seeking advice building desktops so while I have some computer knowledge I'm new to the Laptop scene. I've been doing light research here and there and have a loose foothold in what I'm looking for spec wise but I'm not sure where to buy from.

My preferred budget is around £650. I plan on using the laptop for Photoshop work, potentially 3D modelling and definitely gaming (games design student). I don't need it to be able to run the latest games on high settings since that what my desktop's for. The laptop is so I can work when I travel (which is often) and can also take to LAN gaming events.

Is it worth buying from a high street retailer such as PC world or will I get a much better deal online? I'm also interested in the idea of using a custom build online retailer but I have no idea who's worth going with, would this be the most cost effective route?

Thanks for reading :D

So after more research I'm closer to narrowing my search down. I've upped my budget to £800-£900, this seems to be the price range specs I'd like are.

The specs I'm looking for:
i7cpu, 660m gpu, 8gb+ ram, 17'' screen preferable, HD space isn't very important to me since I'll be using external drives often.
I've mainly be looking at Lenovo, Asus, MSI and had a look at a custom build site called pcspecialist. The main issue I'm having at the moment is deciding where to buy from online within in the UK.
