Laptop Help Please! 11/15/12

Hi, I am in the market for a new laptop. I am looking for a laptop that can handle photo imaging and video editing. and some minimal gaming
Looking for :
+8 gigs of ram,
Core i7 or better,
Looking for one with an (SSD, if not I could switch one in), at least 200GB
Looking for one with a webcam,
Discrete GPU,
DVD drive,
Portable/thin,
But not too hot,
USB 3.0
A nice feeling keyboard, preferably not the rubbery ones.
Budget is limited to $1,000 but I am willing to get one more expensive if the deal was good.



If I get a Windows 7 laptop and install Windows 8, will the multi-touch work?

None of the comps you've selected have SSDs... Also, none of them have more than 8GB RAM.
The last Asus is a really good laptop, but for only $200 more, you get a much better deal with it's higher version.

Also, you can get a Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition, or a 17R. These are less powerful than the Asus above, but will satisfy your needs perfectly. They're also less expensive. The GTX 650M 2GB Graphics card is a entry level class 1 card, which will handle all of your video/photo editing easily, as well as the minimal gaming you're talking about.

If you're looking for value for money, go for the Insipron 15R. The others are larger (17.3 inch screens) and a bit more expensive. Here is the link. Customize as you see fit.
