Gateway Wireless shut off - no apparent reason

Hello,
Have a gateway NV53A that shut off wireless. Using the Fn F2 brings up a fine graphic for on / off but makes no difference at all. checked adapters - all working properly. Pulled up Windows Mobility Center and the wireless is off and dithered out so cannot press the button. No idea why it shut off, have tried everything I can think of with no success. Any input would be appreciated

If you check the time stamp you will notice these are 5 minutes apart, poor connection had to refresh the page several times before it was obvious it had posted. That resulted in the repost
