i would go with the larger Acer Aspire V3 model. It has a much faster cpu, better graphics, and a higher resolution display that will certainly be noticable. And it's cheaper. You have to weigh whether the size is a big enough problem to make the smaller one worth the worse performance/resolution.
Also the V3 has a quad core processor while the timeline is a dual core so really the V3 wins by far except for in size.

i wont have the money til the end of october just hope its sstill in stock. and also i was thinking of gettings the windows 8 version....but i tried the preview and just seems like unnecessary stuff. Any thoughts people?

For gaming? You'd be fine with an i5, as 95% of games don't use more than 2 cores.

Get this when it comes out in a week, if you don't want a 17" laptop to lug around, but still want power equal to a 640m:

The 7730m and the 640m are about as good as you can get for the price you're talking about. You could also do the A10/7670m hybrid thing....but there's a catch to that: it can be as fast as the 650m but some games don't support CrossfireX so your performance would just be pure crap on those titles:

i tired hybrid once.. wayyyyy to much of a headache >.< And i like radeon but it seems more goes wrong with radeon switchable graphics than nvidia.
