Will laptops with AMD A10-4600M, A8-4800M run faster on Windows 8?

Hi,

Will laptops with AMD A10-4600M, A8-4800M, ... run faster (CPU and GPU) on Window 8 than on Windows 7?

I would also recommend to Trinity users use Windows 8, because Bulldozer architecture can speed up few%.

Because of the above recommendation of Windows 8 I am facing the following dilemma.
Should I buy Toshiba Satellite S875D-S7239 with Windows 7 (before October 26) or with Windows 8?
I am not interested in any extreme gaming (mild gaming: Disney games, ..) only music, movies and videos streaming or playback.
I think that the S875D-S7239 is fast enough for streaming videos/movies, downloading videos, FLAC files, ... and music and video playback.
I want this laptop because of the Blu-ray high resolution (24bit-48kHz, ..., 24bit/96kHz, ...) audio playback.

For what you do, it will suit you fine, even in Windows 7. The only real noticeable difference is boot time, which would significantly increase after Windows 8 (anywhere from 10-50%). Other than that, any improvement is going to be 0-5%.

Another thing to consider is ditching the 6Gb of ram and drop the $40 for 8Gb (2 x 4Gb) it will help more than waiting for windows 8.

Nevertheles, to lower the price, manufacturers usually install only 4GB + 2GB.
For instance, Toshiba Satellite S875d-S7239 has 4 GB + 2GB 1600 Mhz memory with Blu-ray drive.
The new version of S875d-S7239 called S875D-S7350 with Windows 8 installed also has 4GB + 2GB installed.

I've got one more question.

Is it better when a computer manufacturer installs Windows 8 (Home edition) after October 25
than downloading and installing Windows 8 Pro myself (before January 31 and paying only $15)?

Can a manufacturer tweak - adjust slightly; fine-tune - hardware (CPU, GPU, memory speed, etc.) or customize Windows 8
for a particular laptop/desktop brand, say, Toshiba Satellite?
