plz suggest if this configuration gud for gaming
HP dv6t Quad Laptop
•Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor 2.3GHz (3rd gen)
•8GB DDR3
•32GB mSSD
•NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 630M Graphics with 1GB GDDR3

is the graphics card 1gb too low to play most games like battlefield 3, max payne 3, diablo 3 etc?
also is it worth spending more on i7 vs i5?

@jaguarskx -
thanks for the reply
Currently i m using a laptop with
ATI mobility radon HD5470 2 GB
and i have played max payne3,mass effect 3 , battlefield 3 on it with satisfactory performance(low to medium settings)
can u suggest if the one in the query will perform better than that?

Also anyone, what about i5 vs i7 ?

The GT 630m will be a little more powerful than a HD 5470m so you should see an improvement in performance assuming the same graphic settings and the same resolution.

Generally speaking, an i5 should be enough for games since the vast majority of games only use 2 cores. As for those small percentage of games that can use more than 2 cores, a "QM" model i7 CPU can give you better performance. Only the i7 "QM" CPUs are quad cores. i7 "M" CPUs are dual core CPUs just like an i5 but with higher clockspeed and more cache.
