Stuck between 2 laptop choices

Hello people of Tom's hardware, i have a question about 2 laptops. Im currently stuck between an Acer Aspire http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215407

and a Lenovo G780

Is it worth spending the extra $170 just for 2 more GB of ram and the i7 processor?

im mainly going to use the laptop for school work, with some light gaming. Im looking to keep it as long as i can.

If you have any suggestions on other products, please feel free to post them.

my budget is under $800 ( i can be lenient) and it has to have at least a 17' moniter.

That i7 is actually a dual core.
Go with the acer if you plan to save money.

I would go with http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215541 as it has better graphics and an actual quad core i7. And its still under 800 and has the 17.3" screen
