An A10-4600M would be get you a bit better performance for gaming, as it is the latest generation of APUs from AMD.

I don't really think what you linked is a very good deal, in this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareus.inc&cat=35&post=81965&page=1&p=1&sondage=0&owntopic=3&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0&quote_only=0&new=0&nojs=0 the guy lists an a10 laptop for 550$ (canadian) so I would expect you could find a similar deal in the US; sadly he didn't provide the model anywhere.

Here is a nice resource for info about the A10, and how it performs in games:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Trinity-in-Review-AMD-A10-4600M-APU.74852.0.html

It would be best if you could follow this format for your post:

Edit:
Still not finding much in the way of A10s in your budget, so maybe I am wrong in thinking they are in your price range.

A8-3500M = old-hot-busted

The new sweetness: HP Pavilion dv6z-7000 : $550 with AMD Trinity Quad-Core A8-4500M (3.0GHz/2.1GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)

For another $50 you may add for dual graphics a *1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7670M discreet card*

That should be roughly the cost of your Wally-Rig with sales tax.

It will run less demanding titles at a lower resolution on lower graphics settings. If you are looking to play more demanding titles like Battlefield 3, Witcher 2, Crysis 2, or Metro 2033, that laptop won't be enough.

While laptops have come a long way in terms of gaming performance, laptops capable of gaming decently are still quite expensive. To get a decent laptop you need to spend at least $1000. The only way you'll get anything good for gaming cheaper is if you can find a refurbished deal on a gaming laptop, and refurbished laptops aren't the most reliable.

You don't need to spend $1000+ just to be able to play games. Sure if you are trying to max out the latest games you are looking at that price range but for low to medium settings you could get the dv6z-7000 for around 600-700 and be able to play them comfortably.

@andrelopzz

For light gaming on a budget, there is always http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2520626 it will get you through low settings on many games with the 7670m and it is well below your budget. If you check out junky77's site you will notice that acer does indeed have the sub $500 gaming laptop market cornered. But there are a couple of options out there, just have to do a little research.

i am commented a few times that i have a samsung series 3 with a 3520 a6 + 6530m raedon and it freaking rocks my games. diablo3, skyrim, witcher 2, tf2....the only thing that holds it back is me (500 gig drive keeps me from loading all my games). also my monitor is only 15.6 inch so i am limited in resolution compared to my desktop. but it plays everything on high at 1366x768. i would be willing to bet that the laptop you have your eye on is even better than mine.
