This means the video card is slightly busted, my wife dropped her inspiron mini and now it does the same thing every time it gets booted or returns from sleep mode. Work around is to plug in a VGA cable into the vga slot on the computer and then boot (make sure the other end of the vga is plugged into something also, like a monitor). This will allow the computer to boot up to the start screen at which point you can unplug the vga cable and use as normal. I know this is super depressing. My advice, buy a better computer, that's what I'll be doing for my wife. Dell Inspiron Mini: Sucks! Also, reinstall windows if you own of these things it will work so much faster than on the factory install.
