Hi, I have a asus K50IJ that is starting to feel a bit slow. It has 3gb of mem so upgrading it an extra gig seems kinda superfluous (right?). I was thinking about trying to "hack" in an additional drive, SSD drive to be exact without giving up the space that I currently have (300gb) with the regular drive, that is, I want to have my cake and eat it too (hopefully).

I never use the DVD drive so I was hoping there might be a way to replace it with a SSD drive and wanted to know if there was a less-ghetto-than-duct-tape-n-hot-glue way of doing so. I have looked around on the net and haven't seen anything and when i called ASUS to see if it was possible they just fed me "you will void the warranty..." line (over and over again).

So any suggestions, asides from "just plug in an external drive" would really be appreciated!

Cheers,
