Why is my laptop not picking up emails but my iphone 3GS is

I am with Virgin Media and have a Blueyonder email account. I am getting my email on my iPhone 3GS but not on my laptop. Any ideas

contacting your email provider is a good place to start. or check to see if the phone is removing mail from server.
