About to buy Lenovo T530

So there's a sale now for the t530 on lenovo.ca right now and I've decided to get one before the sales end tomorrow.
So I just hoping you guys could take a look at the specs and see if there's anything wrong before i make the final purchase

Only change is you can consider getting more warranty, as if a laptop breaks, you really do want that. This is in addition to whatever warranty extension your creditcard may tack on.


RAM you can upgrade yourself once you get it.
If you want to go SSD, I believe you can do that too.
So set aside budget for those items

Also, don't feel pressured because there is a sale. All sales at lenovo will come back perhaps not next week, but within some time the same deal will come around

Nothing wrong with it, but I would prefer to get the 1920x1080 screen option for a 15.6" laptop. But that'll add another $200 so I guess $50 extra for 1600x900 is a pretty good deal.

Haha well not really getting pressured cause of the sale. More like pressure from my girlfriend for promising her a laptop for her birthday (and her birthday was 3 months ago.)

Anyhow, thanks for the reply guys. I do plan on upgrading the RAM to 8gb for her and I guess the 1920x1080 probably wont really be needed considering she'll probably plug it into an external monitor.

Keep in mind that the "reason" the 1920x1080 display is expensive is because it's a 95% gamut display with very good colors. It's better than a typical 1920x1080 display, and better than a typical desktop monitor.

Still, regardless of whether or not you have an external monitor, keep at least 1600x900. The Lenovo Thinkpad T530 should not be bought in any configuration that includes the default 1366x768 display, which makes things onscreen large and has very poor image quality due to low contrast.

And having an external monitor isn't really a particularly good reason not to get the 1920x1080 display. Both displays can be used at the same time in an extended-desktop setup, and there will be time when the external monitor is not around.

The 1920x1080 display upgrade from the 1600x900 display in the T530 isn't a mandatory upgrade, but it's a good upgrade.
