Dead pixel

My laptop has one dead pixel.
I know that there is software out there, like UDPixel, that claims to be able to revive dead pixels.
Assuming that I run such software, which flashes solid images rapidly, for some hours, is there any danger to it? Can it make things worse, as in generating more buggy pixels?

It depends on why the pixel is dead. If it's fully off, I don't think any software will help. If it's stuck on one color, it may.
