How to connect a hdmi computer to vga monitor

I'm going to get a computer that has only HDMI port and want to connect it to a vga monitor. I know it is stupid but I have to use that monitor for at least 6 months before I can change. Will a VGA to HDMI cable suffice or do I need a converter?
