Hello,

Laying aside the concern of mobility or weight, is there a way to "loop" 2 or more laptop batteries into one computer to provide extra battery time? Would having multiple batteries add to the battery time in the first place?

As more of a curiosity question, is there a way to switch between just a PSU and the batteries so one can run his laptop through either a cord-only method or through the batteries?

Thanks in advance. The folks at Tom's Hardware have always given solid advice!

It is possible on a technical level, but trying to implement this would be where you run into difficulties. Batteries are simply not manufactured in such a way to make this possible without the potentially dangerous disassembly of the batteries. However, there are a few laptop models out there which allow you to swap in a second battery in lieu of say an optical drive.

And the sarcastic answer to your other question would be, "Yes, take the battery out or disconnect the AC adapter."
