Hi
I have an HP dv4-1125nr with a screen problem. If I open the lid of the laptop less than half way, the LCD is bright and operates normally. But when I open the lid completely, the LCD screen stops working. I think this is a problem with the cable in the hinge losing connection to the motherboard but I am not sure. I have taken it apart and I cannot see how opening the screen all the way screws up the cable connection.... I will order a new cable just in case, its only $4. While I am waiting does anyone has other suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thanks!

It sounds like the video cable is getting pinched and cutting off the backlight. If you've already taken the unit apart, just take the cable out and put it back in to see if you can keep it from getting pinched.
