Has Windows 7 Ultimate and replaced harddrive (because, of course, the tech wanted to waste my money).
Does the same thing with the newer harddrive and the tech is long gone. It is definitely heat-related. On a hot day, even with a fan blowing on it, it appears to get hot and freezes and when forced to shut down and reboot, it won't boot up correctly, stating it can't find the harddrive or that it doesn't have an operating system. Wait a few hours until it cools down and it works fine. I noticed on the web that Windows 7 has problems with any heat issues from a laptop or PC. Bottom line: Anyone know if it's really this laptop's peculiar problem, Windows 7 or some typical hardware problem? Help much appreciated.
