Hello,
Looking for a cheaper labtop for limited homework for a multimedia design course including, video-editing(adobe premiere, final cut), photoshop, and some of the other CS6 applications. Is the AMD Core A10-4600M Accelerated Processor good enough for basic work on projects when I cant make it into the lab (most of the work I will be doing there)?

Looking at this computer:

HP - 15.6" Pavilion Laptop - 6GB Memory - 640GB Hard Drive - Midnight Black
Model: m6-1035dx
SKU: 5608338

Thanks!

Hi,

I don`t know about Premiere, but Photoshop CS6 already uses the OpenCL acceleration of the AMD trinity class APUs, like the A10-4600m, so this should bring it close to i5 performance.

I am also looking forward to buy a Trinity notebook, it`s a great price/performance ratio, but if you work a lot with video/phot editing, I would defiently consider swapping the HDD for an SSD. You can put that HDD into an external case and use it for storage, but with 120GB SSDs around 100-120 USD, and 240GB closing in on 200 USD, such an upgrade would take you way beyond anything the extra power of an Intel i5 or more RAM would get you.
