I am looking to get a new laptop and need some advice. I am a university student (Computer Science) and I have several things I am looking for.

1) Games (Skyrim, Saints Row 3, COD, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Diablo, etc)
2) Virtual Machines Running Good (Win7, OSX, Ubuntu, etc)
3) Emulators (Project 64, Dolphin, etc)
4) School / Developing
5) Possibly 3D movies and games (NVidia 3D vision)

Origins EON15-S has caught my eye but I'm not sure which parts are realistic for my needs.
right now I had kinda been thinking
2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M
Intel Core i7-3720M Quad-Core Processor (2.60GHz), 6MB Cache
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz (2 X 4GB) or 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866MHz (2 X 4GB) or 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz (4 X 4GB)
512GB Crucial M4 - Solid State Drive

I am wondering if these internals would be good for what I want to do, are they too powerful not powerful enough
are there any obvious bottle necks?

:) :) :)
Thanks for reading, any insight is appreciated (I am not a hardware person)

PS. does anybody know what kind of battery life I could expect from this if im just browsing web or writing a program ( I know it probably wont be great )

I don't think the laptop will make effective use of 1866MHz ram (I could be wrong since it is an option), the rest looks solid.
The expected battery time says 3 hours, I figure you could probably run internet and/or throw together code for about 2+ hours no problem - test runs and debugging not included. If put and left on "high performance" settings, I would expect somewhat less.

In reality gaming laptops don't last long while gaming and doing intensive work loads.

General everyday use, you can get anywhere from 5-10 hours more than likely.

Origin manufacturers some good stuff. What I would also suggest is Digital Storm Online as well. Either of is fine.

And your config looks fine. If you can afford it go for it. You obviously want to play these games at some of their best settings and this will let you do that.

Get more RAM for running VMWare as you probably want to swap back and forth.

Just my thoughts.
